Jakarta, August 15, 2026 – The Postgraduate Program of Universitas Tarumanagara (UNTAR) held a public lecture entitled “The Strategic Role of Master and Doctoral Scholars in Shaping Indonesia’s Future” for students of the Doctoral Program in Management and the Master of Management Program. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Amerta Mardjono, S.E., MBA., Senior Country Officer at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and an alumnus of UNTAR’s Doctoral Program in Management.
The event was attended by the Rector of Universitas Tarumanagara and Acting Director of the Postgraduate Program, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M.; Head of the Doctoral Program in Management, Prof. Dr. Haris Maupa, S.E., M.Si.; Head of the Master of Management Program, Prof. Dr. Keni, S.E., M.M.; and Secretary of the Doctoral Program in Management and Master of Management Program, Dr. Cokki, S.E., M.M.
During the public lecture, Dr. Amerta Mardjono discussed the strategic role of master’s and doctoral graduates in navigating the dynamics of the professional world and contributing to Indonesia’s development.
Graduate education not only provides an opportunity to deepen knowledge and expertise in specific fields but also plays an important role in developing strategic, analytical, and critical thinking skills. These capabilities are essential for understanding increasingly complex challenges and generating relevant ideas and solutions for organizations and society.
From Graduate Education to Meaningful Contributions

As an alumnus of UNTAR’s Doctoral Program in Management and a professional working in an international environment, Dr. Amerta Mardjono also shared his perspective on the connection between academic education and the challenges encountered in the professional world.
The presentation was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session, providing students with an opportunity to engage directly with the speaker. The discussion covered various topics related to graduate education, professional development, and the contributions of master’s and doctoral graduates in responding to changes in the business environment and society.
As a token of appreciation, the UNTAR Postgraduate Program presented a certificate of appreciation to Dr. Amerta Mardjono for his contribution as the speaker at the public lecture.
