This was conveyed by the Director of the Postgraduate Program at Tarumanagara University (PPs Untar), Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., IPU., ASEAN Eng., in front of the students. As a professional engineer, Prof. Agustinus served as the keynote speaker for a public lecture held jointly with the Civil Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Untar, during the Practitioner Teaching Week event on Monday (10\/13\/2025).<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Under the theme \u201cUnderstanding Scientific and Professional Organizations Related to Management, Public Policy\/Regulations, and Ethics at the National and International Levels,\u201d Prof. Agustinus discussed the crucial role of professional organizations and scientific institutions in establishing ethical and sustainable governance and public policies. In his presentation, he emphasized that the professionalism of both academics and engineering practitioners is measured not only by technical competence but also by an understanding of ethical values, regulations, and social responsibility. \u201cEthics cannot be replaced by technology. The current challenge is how we maintain sustainability and public safety in every project,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Through this event, students gained insights into how ethical principles and public policies in engineering can be strategically implemented in both national and international contexts.
