The Master of Management Program at Universitas Tarumanagara (MM Untar) held a guest lecture with the theme “Business Strategy Management in Economic Volatility” in a hybrid format on Saturday (08/16/2025). New students attended the event onsite at the Main Building of Campus 1, while returning students joined online via Zoom. The event was held in conjunction with the official welcoming of MM Untar’s 76th intake of new students. The public lecture featured Dr. Handojo Wibawanto Soetikno, BSET., M.B.A., M.S., Corporate Marketing Director of Bank of China, as the keynote speaker. The event began with the national anthem Indonesia Raya and the Mars Tarumanagara, followed by opening remarks from the Head of the MM Program, Prof. Dr. Keni, S.E., M.M., and the Director of the Postgraduate Program, Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., IPU., ASEAN Eng.
In his remarks, Prof. Keni warmly welcomed the new students, particularly those from non-business backgrounds. “Welcome to all new students, and special appreciation to those who completed the matriculation program with excellent results. May your journey at MM Untar be meaningful, grounded in integrity, professionalism, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Together, let’s realize our vision of making MM Untar a leading program in Southeast Asia through relevant learning, applied research, and leadership development — so graduates can make a positive impact on business and society,” he concluded. Prof. Agustinus emphasized the importance of practical learning in graduate education. “A master’s program must equip students with real-world skills. Inviting Dr. Handojo, a seasoned banking practitioner, is a reflection of that. Lecturers must teach solutions that are applicable and address real challenges in the field,” he added.

The highlight of the event was Dr. Handojo’s lecture, where he shared strategies businesses can adopt to survive and thrive amid global economic uncertainty. The final segment of the event was a student orientation for the 76th intake of the Odd Semester 2025/2026 academic year, led by Prof. Dr. Keni, S.E., M.M. and Ir. Mohammad Agung Saryatmo, S.T., M.M., M.T., Ph.D., Head of Program and Academic Manager of MM Untar. The orientation aimed to help new students navigate their academic journey smoothly and complete their studies efficiently. Students were also given the opportunity to ask questions regarding the material presented.
