Jakarta, December 13th, 2024 – Alain Moelya Warisadi from Australia and Yeo Wei Ming from Singapore, students of the Master of Management Study Program at Universitas Tarumanagara, successfully defended their theses today, becoming the third and fourth international students to achieve this academic milestone.
Alain Moelya Warisadi’s thesis, “The Influence of Social Environment, Financial Attitude, and Income on the Saving Behaviour of Students in Melbourne,” examined how social influences, financial attitudes, and income levels impact students’ saving habits. His research provided a deeper understanding of the financial challenges and strategies adopted by students, offering valuable insights for improving financial literacy among young adults.
Yeo Wei Ming’s research, “The Influence of Self-Control, Financial Literacy, and Risk Tolerance on Investment Decisions in Financial Instruments,” explored how behavioral traits and knowledge affect financial decision-making. His findings emphasized the importance of self-discipline, financial literacy, and risk tolerance in shaping investment choices, offering practical guidance for improving investor education and financial products.
The examination was conducted by a distinguished panel of experts, including Ir. Dr. Rajendran Muthuveloo (Universiti Sains Malaysia), Prof. Ignatius Roni Setyawan (Universitas Tarumanagara), and Agung Saryatmo, M.M., M.T., Ph.D. (Universitas Tarumanagara), under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Keni S.E., M.M. The committee praised both students for their rigorous research and valuable contributions to their respective fields.
