MM Untar Program Inspires Participants to Become Stars by Harnessing Their Inner Potential

The Master of Management Program at Universitas Tarumanagara (MM Untar) held a hybrid seminar titled “Harnessing Your Inner Capabilities to Be a Star” on Saturday (04/03/2023). The offline session took place at the Main Building of Untar Campus 1, while the online session was conducted via Zoom. This seminar was also held in conjunction with the welcoming of new students from MM Untar’s 71st cohort. The featured speaker was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Rajendran Muthuveloo, a certified coach, consultant, trainer, and published author.

During his session, Dr. Rajendran Muthuveloo discussed how individuals can discover and utilize their inner capabilities to achieve success. He emphasized the importance of recognizing and developing personal potential, cultivating a strong mindset, and building effective leadership skills. Participants were also given valuable insights into strategies for overcoming challenges in personal and career development, as well as how to stay motivated and persistent in reaching their goals.

He stressed that every student should be aware of their potential and make the most of their capabilities. However, negative thinking often becomes a major obstacle to personal growth. Drawing from his experience as a former Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Business, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Dr. Rajendran Muthuveloo introduced the concept of RATS—which stands for Remote, Avoidance, Timid, and Self-destructive—as typical traits that hinder individuals on the path to success. “Self-isolation and fear of trying new things are common barriers faced by many,” he explained.

He went on to describe the idea that everyone has the potential to become a star, a belief that can be cultivated through a mindset he calls STAR: Self-confidence, Thinking, Ambition, and Rise. According to him, by embracing opportunities and carefully planning their future, individuals can achieve their goals. “The journey to success becomes much easier when it’s guided by values rooted in serving others, rather than seeking personal gratification,” he added.

Dr. Rajendran Muthuveloo concluded by reinforcing that the choice lies within each individual. “If you want to be talented, you must start by thinking like a star,” he told the audience. The seminar, attended by students, academics, and professionals, was met with great enthusiasm, particularly during the Q&A session where participants engaged in dynamic discussions and shared their experiences. The event offered valuable perspectives on how individuals can maximize their abilities to succeed in both academic and professional spheres.

MM Untar remains committed to delivering academic programs that are aligned with industry developments.
